Peppery Cheddar Breadsticks: A Family Favourite with a Kick
If you’re anything like me, there’s nothing better than the aroma of freshly baked breadsticks wafting through the kitchen. These Peppery Cheddar Breadsticks are my go-to recipe when I want to impress family and friends with something both delicious and fun. The combination of sharp cheddar cheese and freshly ground black pepper creates a snack that’s both savoury and satisfying.
Easy-to-Follow Recipe
Here’s how I make these breadsticks: Start by mixing plain flour with garlic granules, paprika, and baking powder.
Add softened butter, shredded cheddar cheese, milk, and an egg,
then stir in olive oil.
The dough will be a bit sticky, but that’s perfectly fine! After a quick chill in the freezer, roll it out,
cut it into strips,
and twist them into beautiful spirals.
Don’t forget to brush them with a rich egg wash and sprinkle some flaky salt on top.
Why I Love the MANNKITCHEN Pepper Cannon
One of the secrets to the bold flavour of these breadsticks is using freshly ground black pepper. I used to dread grinding pepper because it was always a hassle. My old grinder was inconsistent and made seasoning feel like a chore. That all changed when I discovered the MANNKITCHEN Pepper Cannon. This tool has completely transformed how I add pepper to my dishes. Its sleek design and effortless grinding action mean I no longer struggle with awkward, ineffective grinders. With just a few turns of the handle, the MANNKITCHEN Pepper Cannon smoothly crushes peppercorns, delivering the perfect amount of fresh, aromatic pepper every time. It’s a game-changer in my kitchen and really enhances the flavour of my Peppery Cheddar Breadsticks.
Baking Tips That Make a Difference
A few tips from my kitchen to yours: Make sure to chill the dough to keep it manageable. When cutting and twisting, don’t worry if the dough is a bit sticky—just handle it gently. Space the breadsticks out on your baking tray to allow them to crisp up nicely. Bake until they’re golden brown and irresistibly crispy. If you have any leftovers, they store beautifully in an airtight container for up to 3 days or can be frozen for a rainy day. Just pop them back in the oven to refresh their crunch.
Serving and Enjoying
These breadsticks are perfect with a variety of dips. Personally, I love them with our Roasted Red Pepper and Feta Dip or Roasted Garlic Dip. They also make a fantastic addition to soups or salads, adding a cheesy, peppery crunch that everyone loves.
Give these Peppery Cheddar Breadsticks a try, and let the MANNKITCHEN Pepper Cannon bring a little extra magic to your kitchen. I promise they’ll be a hit!
